Why we built it
Free hosting has a reputation, and it is mostly deserved. The usual version hands you a crippled container, hides the console, throttles you the moment anyone uses your bot, and waits for you to give up and pay. The free tier is not a product in its own right. It is a funnel.
We wanted the other thing: a free tier that is genuinely usable, built the way the paid kind is built. You get a real control panel, a live console, a file manager, backups, databases and DDoS protection. The same machinery a paying customer would get, because running two qualities of platform is more work than running one good one.

Your server is provisioned automatically and you are live in about a minute. Renew it with points you earn rather than money.
How we keep it free
Someone pays for the servers. Being straight about who is the least we owe you.
Advertising
A small number of ads across the site cover the hosting bill. They are the reason the free tier is not a trial.
Velrix Desktop
Opt in to share a slice of unused bandwidth and the site goes ad-free while it runs, and you earn points. Entirely optional.
Points, not invoices
Servers renew with points you earn by using the platform, so an active project never hits a paywall.
A company behind it
Hypefox AB funds the shortfall. Velrix is a product, not a side project waiting to be switched off.
Points are the part people ask about most. You earn them by showing up: a daily check-in, a referral, running Velrix Desktop. You spend them renewing your server or adding resources. An active project stays online indefinitely without anyone paying, and an abandoned one eventually frees its slot for someone who will use it.

Velrix is a brand of Hypefox AB, a Swedish company that also runs Melonslab. Being a registered company matters more than it sounds for a free service: there is an entity behind the platform, a real address, and someone accountable for your data under GDPR rather than an anonymous project that can vanish overnight.
